The Clark County Jail Work Center, also referred to as JWC, opened in April of 2000 and is a minimum security facility which uses direct supervision while allowing offenders freedom of movement and activities. The Work Release building is a housing unit and one of the buildings at the JWC facility. It is operated by the Clark County Sheriff's Office and the Washington State Department of Corrections.
Work Release housing is co-ed available to both male and female offenders. Sleeping areas are separated into male and female dorms. Clark County has a contract with Washington State Department of Corrections to house qualified state offenders.
There is a bed capacity of 100 offenders, 30 beds are reserved for state offenders and the remaining beds are filled with local offenders from Clark County District and Superior Courts.
The offenders housed in this building are low risk and have qualified for the Work Release program.
