Chickens

Chickens are allowed in both unincorporated Clark County and the city of Vancouver. Roosters are not allowed in the city of Vancouver or its urban growth area.

Livestock plans

Livestock is allowed in the urban area with an approved livestock plan. Plans are not required for small livestock that is either caged or spends all hours indoors. Agricultural uses involving livestock on property brought into an urban growth boundary are exempt from creating a livestock plan.

Building new structures for livestock

New structures for large livestock on property within the urban growth boundary but outside of city limits must be placed 20 feet from all property lines. New structures must comply with applicable building codes.
