Traffic delays and closures for summer road preservation work

Clark County Public Works reminds local drivers that summer is the season for road preservation projects. Road preservation includes several different methods to preserve roads and to protect the county’s transportation infrastructure. Work to apply cape seal, slurry seal, chip seal and hot mix asphalt can cause traffic delays and road closures. While out on the roads this summer, drivers should remember that it is road construction season and expect delays or detours. Construction beginning on new roundabout at intersection of Northeast 119th Street and Northeast 152nd Avenue

May 14: Construction is beginning to convert the intersection of Northeast 119th Street and Northeast 152nd Avenue to a single-lane roundabout. The intersection will be closed to through traffic in July and August for construction of the roundabout. During the closure, local access to neighboring properties will be maintained. Through traffic will be directed onto a signed detour route. Construction of the roundabout is scheduled to be complete by the end of August. At that time, the intersection will reopen to through traffic. Additional paving, striping and installation of permanent signage, guardrail and lighting is anticipated to be complete by October.

Construction is weather dependent and this schedule is subject to change. Schedule updates, detour maps and additional information can be found on the project webpage at clark.wa.gov/public-works/ne-119th-st-and-ne-152nd-ave.
