Both courts accept efiled documents.

Superior Court does have different requirements than District Court. Please see their website for more information:

A registration form needs to be submitted. Complete the form (link to the form is on our website: https://clark.wa.gov/district-court/electronic-filing) and return it to the District Court Administrative Office or email it to: district.efile@clark.wa.gov

Correctly completed registration forms will receive a username and password within 1-2 weeks.

The account holder’s email address should be listed as the account’s PRIMARY email address, but up to three email addresses can be associated with each efile account. All email addresses will receive the automatic email receipt notifications.

Once you receive your username and password, you should submit a test document. When you receive confirmation from the Court (in the form of date-stamped email receipt), you can begin using the efile site.

Be sure to periodically check your "Junk Items" folder, if you do not see the confirmation emails come in.

Documents must be .tif, .tiff or .pdf formats. No other formats will be accepted by the site.

TIF/TIFF documents should be: Black & white, Compressed Group 4 (sometimes referred to as G4).

ALL documents must be one of the following DPI (resolutions):

  • 200
  • 240
  • 300
  • 400

All other resolutions will automatically be rejected. Page 2 of 3

*Please be aware that .pdf documents may be difficult to read when imported into the Court’s imaging system and may be even more difficult to read when emailed back to you. This is why we recommend submitting .TIF or .TIFF documents.

Any original documents that are on colored paper or other non-standard white bond paper should be copied on your copier and then the COPY should be scanned for your efile document image. Colored or other material paper generates a lower quality, larger sized image.

Yes. Automatic email receipts (copies of your filing with a date stamp) will be sent to all the email addresses associated with your efile account.

If you need a copy of a signed document, you will need to contact District Court directly.

All of the automated email receipt attachments are sent in .tif format.

If the document reaches our 24mb (per email) limit, no email notification will be sent out. If you require proof of filing, you may request a copy of the first page of your document (with the Filed/Received stamp applied) be emailed to you.
