Diking and drainage district candidate filing period

Beginning at 8 am on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, Clark County Elections will begin taking candidate filings for the positions of commissioner for Drainage District No. 2, Drainage Improvement District No. 5 and Diking Improvement District No. 14. These commissioner positions are six-year terms. The filing period will end at 5 pm on Friday, Dec. 12.

The official date of the election for these commissioner positions will be Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026.  If only one candidate files for any of these three positions, that candidate will be deemed elected and an election will not be held for that office.

To be eligible to file or to vote within each of these districts, a person must be a registered voter of the State of Washington and own property within the district. 

Filings can be submitted electronically by emailing a completed Declaration of Candidacy to elections@clark.wa.gov or by coming in person to the Clark County Elections Office at 1408 Franklin St. in downtown Vancouver. 

The deadline for a candidate to withdraw their candidacy declaration is 4 pm, Monday, Dec. 15.
