Stormwater Partners of Southwest Washington is proud to announce the winners of the third annual Students for Clean Water Video Contest. Clark County middle and high school students submitted more than 60 videos for the contest. Five $500 first place and five $100 honorable mention prizes are awarded to:

The disc golf course at Hockinson Meadows Community Park is now open. Clark County Public Works thanks the community for helping make this project possible. We also thank the community for their patience as we worked through unexpected delays to complete the project.

Clark County is participating in a statewide project to improve high-speed internet access. As part of this project, the county is surveying the community about their access to high-speed internet. Surveys are being sent to community institutions, nonprofit organizations, groups, service providers and residents. The project's goal is to improve internet access in areas that are currently unserved or underserved.

The former caretaker residence at Lacamas Regional Park will be demolished May 15-19. The parking lot off Northeast Everett Street will be closed during the demolition. The overflow parking lot off Northeast 35th Avenue will be improved to prepare for the project.

Impacts to park users
May 8-12: The overflow parking lot off Northeast 35th Avenue will be closed for regrading. The work is expected to be complete by Friday May 12 but is dependent on weather.

May 13 and 14: Both parking lots will be open Saturday and Sunday.

The parking lot at Klineline Pond at Salmon Creek Regional Park will be closed for repairs April 24-29. The pond area of the park will be inaccessible to visitors.

During the closure a contractor will make repairs to the parking lot, including grinding the existing asphalt and repairing potholes and cracks. These repairs must be made before a cape seal surface preservation treatment can be applied this summer.

A contractor will repair a small area of the Klineline Pond parking lot at Salmon Creek Regional Park beginning Wednesday, April 19. Lakeside Industries will replace damaged concrete at the entrance to the bridge over Salmon Creek. The work area will be blocked with cones, signs and caution tape. While the parking lot will remain open, visitors are asked to avoid the work area. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, April 21, weather permitting.

The intersection of Northeast 99th Street and Northeast 94th Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, April 17 for construction of a roundabout. The closure is expected to last at least 25 days but may be extended as needed. Exact closure start and end dates are weather dependent.

Drivers will be diverted onto a detour route. To reduce the impact of traffic along the detour route, the construction contractor will place temporary bumps. The temporary speed bumps are owned by the contractor, who will remove them when the closure ends.

Clark County Council is holding a work session about the 179th Street Access Management and Circulation Plan at 9 am on Wednesday, March 29. Councilors are requesting additional information about the plan as they consider adoption and whether to move the plan to a public hearing. During the work session staff will share questions received from residents throughout the project and share responses.

Stormwater Partners of Southwest Washington invites middle and high school students throughout Clark County to create fun and impactful videos to inspire the community to work together for clean water. Stormwater Partners is hosting the third annual Students for Clean Water Student Video Contest. Stormwater Partners is a coalition of local agencies and organizations, including Clark County and the cities of Battle Ground, Camas, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver and Washougal.

A portion of the Lacamas Heritage Trail will be closed for resurfacing beginning Monday, March 6. North Cascade Excavating will be resurfacing the trail between the trailhead at 7986 NE Goodwin Road and the footbridge located about a mile south. In addition to the trail closure, the parking lot at the Goodwin Road trailhead will also be closed. Residents are asked to avoid the area during the closure.
