Beginning at 9 am Wednesday, Feb. 9, elections officials will perform a hand count of approximately 600 ballots randomly selected as part of a manual comparison against machine results.
The selected ballots will be counted in the total returns on Election Day. But for this comparison, the City of Vancouver ballot measure will be counted by hand, to check the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.
Beginning Friday, Jan. 21, ballots will be mailed to all registered voters who reside in the city of Vancouver, Evergreen Public Schools district, Green Mountain School District, Hockinson School District, La Center School District, Mount Pleasant School District and Ridgefield School District.
At 9 am on Tuesday, Jan. 4, the Clark County Elections Office will conduct a logic and accuracy test of the programming to be used to tabulate ballots and the accessible voting units for the Feb. 8 special election.
The test will be held at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St. Members of the news media, jurisdictions with measures on the ballot and the public are invited to attend this test, which is required under Washington law.
Ballots will be mailed Friday, Jan. 21.
Every election, the Clark County Auditor’s Office provides an online and printed voters’ guide with information about candidates and ballot measures for voters to make an informed decision when voting. The voters’ guide includes statements by and photographs of candidates for elective offices as well as local ballot measures with supporting and opposing statements written by citizens.
On Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, a mandatory manual recount began of the ballots cast in the Nov. 2, 2021, General Election for City of Vancouver Councilor, Position No. 1 race and Hockinson School District Director, District No. 1 position was conducted and is now complete.
The Clark County Canvassing Board, on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, authorized mandatory manual recounts of ballots cast in Clark County for the City of Vancouver, Council, Position No. 1 race and the Hockinson School District No. 98, Director District No. 1 race at the Nov. 2, 2021 general election.

Vancouver, Wash. – Due to an administrative error, the Clark County Elections Office sent an incorrect ballot to 2,120 voters residing in precincts 625 and 930.
The voters affected will receive the correct ballot and a letter of explanation.
For any of the affected voters who return an incorrect ballot, that ballot will be held until the end of the election to give the voters time to return the correct ballot.
Beginning Friday, Oct. 15, ballots will be in the mail to all registered voters in Clark County.
If a voter does not receive a ballot by Thursday, Oct. 21, they should contact the Elections Office at 564.397.2345 to request a replacement ballot. Although replacement ballots may be requested in person at the Elections Office, staff encourages voters to request a replacement by email, or by phone. After Oct. 21, replacement ballots may also be requested or accessed electronically at votewa.gov to print out and return by mail or drop box.
