Master Case 318 HOMICIDE
The bodies of Carol Valenzuela, 18, and an unidentified female were discovered in the Dole Valley area near the Rock Creek Bridge. Valenzuela had been missing for approximately two months at the time her remains were found.
The unidentified woman was later identified in 2015 through DNA technology as 17-year-old Martha Morrison. Morrison’s DNA was subsequently detected on evidence collected from convicted serial killer Warren Forrest in 1974, leading to his conviction for her murder in 2023.
Investigators believe Carol Valenzuela was also a victim of Forrest.
