On July 8, 1987, the body of Hahn “Sandy” Nguyen was discovered by a family member inside their home in the 1700 block of Northeast 97th Street in Vancouver, where she lived. Nguyen and her family worked at a berry farm, but on the day of her death she had remained home while the others went to work. 

She was later found to have been strangled with a phone cord. Her homicide remains unsolved.
