In December 2000, Joseph Frank Thomas, 38, was reported missing by his wife after a four-day period without contact. Thomas had a history of methamphetamine use and theft, and at the time of his disappearance, investigators initially considered the possibility that he was avoiding arrest due to outstanding warrants. 

Detectives now believe Thomas is likely a homicide victim. He was last known to have left his residence near SR 503 and Rock Creek Road, driving his brown and white 1987 Isuzu Trooper (Washington license plate 4A02962). Neither Thomas nor his vehicle has ever been recovered. 

The case remains unsolved.
