The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting for Sheriff’s support positions. The Sheriff's Office support branch provides a full range of high-level services to the agency and community. These duties include law enforcement records management, public records request completion, civil processes, property/evidence management and food service coordination for jail facilities.

Sheriff's support staff serve in myriad positions that assist law enforcement and corrections deputies, including positions in the field, office, property logistics, evidence and within the detention facilities. Support Specialist duties include helping citizens, coordinating with 911 dispatchers, and communicating with other law enforcement agencies, criminal and civil courts and other entities in the criminal justice system. Typical work could include processing crime reports, confirming arrest warrants, collecting inmate records, processing protection orders, transporting, logging and storing evidence, public disclosure dissemination, file maintenance and jail food preparation and laundry services. 

The Sheriff’s Office operates 24 hours a day. Support staff members are required to be available to work all shifts – day, swing and grave – as assigned, including weekends and holidays.

Minimum qualifications include

• High school diploma or a GED certification
• At least 18 years old
• United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident
• Valid driver license at time of appointment
• Bi-lingual skills preferred but not required
• No prior felony convictions and/or recent or excessive drug use history
• Solid writing skills and basic report preparation
• Communication, mediation and problem solving skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgment
• Ability to use a computer and knowledge of various software applications
• Ability to successfully complete Clark County Sheriff's Office background investigation
