To promote a positive partnership between the community and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office through education.

What is the Citizens' Academy?

The Citizens' Academy is a 7-week program designed to provide citizens of Clark County the opportunity to learn about the Sheriff’s Office.

What is the purpose of the Academy?

The purpose of the Citizens' Academy is to increase understanding between the department and the citizens of Clark County through education. Citizens will become familiar with the many facets of the Sheriff’s Office and local law and justice system.

Who is eligible to participate in the Academy?

The Citizens' Academy is a course specifically designed for citizens who are active in their communities and who wish to learn more about law enforcement in Clark County. Participants must be at least 18 years of age; live or work in Clark County; and pass a limited background check.

When is the Academy?

The academy is held in the fall and spring and runs one night a week for seven consecutive weeks and one Saturday.
