Vancouver, WA – The Board of County Councilors has appointed Eileen Quiring and Dick Riley to serve as alternates on the Board of Equalization. Both will fill unexpired terms that begin immediately.
Vancouver resident Eileen Quiring has been a real estate broker and appraiser. She formerly served as a state senator and representative in Oregon. Her term will run through 2016.
Dick Riley has been a private real estate appraiser in Clark County for more than 40 years. He has lectured on appraisal practices at WSU-Vancouver and Clark College. His term runs through 2018.
“We are thankful that both appointees are knowledgeable citizens willing to faithfully represent their peers to competently consider citizen appeals,” said Council Chair David Madore.
The Board of Equalization provides an impartial citizen forum for property owners to appeal assessed valuations. Members are paid $75 per day to attend board meetings.
