• Community Planning

Clark County recognizes that older adults are valuable contributors to the vitality of this community. To encourage and support older adults for their contributions to their communities, the Clark County Commission on Aging established a program to recognize older adults who go above and beyond in service.


• Community Development

The county manager is seeking applicants to fill three pending vacancies on the Clark County Development and Engineering Advisory Board, DEAB. The positions are open to professionals associated with land development, private-sector development engineering, and construction contracting.

The terms for all three positions are three years beginning Jan. 1, 2022 and ending Dec. 31, 2024.

The advisory board reviews policy and county code changes and works on process improvements and fees with the county’s Community Development, Community Planning and Public Works departments.


• Assessor

The Clark County Council is seeking applicants to fill five vacancies representing the active farming community on the Clark County Farm Advisory Committee for 2022.

The term for this committee is one year from January through December and shall convene a minimum of once per year. 


• Treasurer

The Clark County Treasurer’s Office announced that Treasurer Alishia Topper will be re-opening a drive-through tax payment drop-off window for the last two days of the tax season.

The drive-through kiosk is located at the east parking structure entrance at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. The kiosk will be open from 9 am to 4 pm on Friday, Oct 29, and Monday, Nov. 1.


• Elections

Beginning at 9 am Wednesday, Nov. 3, elections officials will perform a hand count of approximately 600 ballots randomly selected as part of a manual comparison against machine results.

The selected ballots will be counted in the total returns on Election Day. But for this comparison, the Clark County Sales and Use Tax measure will be counted by hand, to check the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.


• Public Health

The Clark County Council is seeking applicants to fill two volunteer positions on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission.

The open positions represent the stakeholders below:

  • North Clark County
  • Clark County at-large  

Terms for all positions begin immediately and end Sept. 30, 2024.


• Community Planning

The Clark County Council is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the volunteer Planning Commission.

The opening is for a four-year term that begins Jan. 1, 2022, and goes through Dec. 31, 2025.

The Planning Commission is a seven-member group that makes recommendations to the council on land-use planning, zoning and development in areas outside cities and about issues such as growth management, roads, public facilities, development regulations and applicable county ordinances.


• Clark County Council

The Clark County Councilors is seeking applicants to fill one of three Clark County-recommended positions on the seven-member Fort Vancouver Regional Library District board of trustees.

The at-large position is designated for a Clark County resident living outside the Vancouver and Camas city limits. The term is for seven years and begins January 2022.


• Community Planning

The Housing Options Study and Action Plan project’s eighth meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26 via Zoom. The meeting is open to the public and will be recorded.

The Project Advisory Group’s (PAG) purpose is to identify housing challenges within the unincorporated Vancouver urban growth area and opportunities to encourage development of housing that is affordable to a variety of household incomes through the removal of regulatory barriers and/or implementation of other strategies.


• Elections

Vancouver, Wash. – Due to an administrative error, the Clark County Elections Office sent an incorrect ballot to 2,120 voters residing in precincts 625 and 930.

The voters affected will receive the correct ballot and a letter of explanation.

For any of the affected voters who return an incorrect ballot, that ballot will be held until the end of the election to give the voters time to return the correct ballot.
