Vancouver, Wash. – Due to the concerns regarding the COVID 19 virus, the Clark County Permit Center today announced that the Permit Center lobby on the first floor of the of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. will be closed to the public beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
“We will re-evaluate the closure by April 1 to determine a date to reopen the Permit Center to customers,” said Mike Curtis, Permit Center manager.
Vancouver, Wash. – Out of an abundance of caution, and in accordance with state and county guidelines issued regarding the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Clark County Public Works has closed Luke Jensen Sports Park to all public events and activities. Private rentals scheduled to take place during the closure are canceled and will be fully refunded.
Vancouver Wash. – Business owners impacted by the recent closure orders due to the novel coronavirus will have the option of paying their business personal property taxes over time with no penalties or collection fees. Clark County Treasurer Alishia Topper today announced.
“It is my goal to do what I can during this difficult time to help small business owners who are being impacted by the economic hardship caused by the virus outbreak,” said Treasurer Topper.
Two Clark County COVID-19 patients died Monday evening. These are the first deaths from COVID-19 in Clark County.
These patients were the husband and wife, both in their 80s, who were hospitalized at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center last week.
One patient was a resident at a small adult family home. All residents and staff at the adult family home are considered close contacts and have been quarantined.
The Superior Court bench met on Monday, March 16, 2020 to discuss the court’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Courthouse, Juvenile Courthouse and Family Law Annex facilities remain open but there are modifications to operations which should increase the safety of court participants and staff.

Vancouver, Wash. - Clark County Public Health’s front office, which includes vital records (birth and death certificates), environmental public health (permits and plan reviews), and food worker testing will be moving to a virtual format beginning Tuesday, March 17.
The decision to close the lobby was made in consideration of the health of customers, employees and the community as novel coronavirus, COVID-19, circulates. The closure will be re-evaluated by April 13 to determine a date to re-open the lobby.
Vancouver, Wash. – A fourth person has tested positive for novel coronavirus, COVID-19, in Clark County.
The case is a woman in her 40s. She was identified as a close contact of a confirmed case in Oregon. She is quarantined at home, and household members are being quarantined for 14 days.

The new cases are a married couple – a man and a woman both in her 80s. The couple live in separate long-term care facilities but were in close contact. Both were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center this week. They remain hospitalized.
One case is a resident of a small adult family home. We will not be identifying the name of that facility, in order to protect residents’ privacy.

The GIS Map Store also will be closed to in-person services.
