Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Public Health is continuing its measles outbreak investigation. Since Jan. 1, we have identified 53 confirmed cases and seven suspect cases. Public Health has not identified any additional locations where people may have been exposed to measles.

Vancouver, Wash. – The public is invited to join Clark County Treasurer Alishia Topper and Assessor Peter Van Nortwick as they discuss the 2019 state and local tax rates and changes. The county officials will specifically address how the changes in school funding impact Clark County tax payers.
The discussion will be 5-6:30 pm Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the sixth-floor Hearing Room, at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey is encouraging voters to take advantage of several convenient ways to submit their special election ballots early, in case there is inclement weather on Election Day, Feb. 12.

Vancouver, Wash. – Beginning at 8:30 am Wednesday, Feb. 13, elections officials will perform a hand count of approximately 600 ballots randomly selected as part of a manual comparison against machine results.
The selected ballots will be counted in the total returns on Election Day. But for this comparison, the Vancouver School District levy measure on those ballots also will be counted by hand, to check the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.
Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is taking applications for two retail fireworks permits to be assigned by lottery on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Fireworks cannot be sold in Clark County without a permit.
Vancouver, Wash. – Public Works crews are out early this morning after a light layer of overnight snow blanketed Clark County.
Crews are spraying deicer and applying gravel where needed in unincorporated Clark County. Across most of the county, including urban areas near the city of Vancouver, there isn’t enough snow on roads to plow. Accumulations are slightly heavier in some locations, such as north Clark County at higher elevations.
