Vancouver, Wash. – Residents will have a chance next week to offer their thoughts before Clark County considers changing or setting speed limits on six sections of county roadway.
The Clark County Council will hold a public hearing on the speed limit updates at 6 pm Tuesday, March 19, in the sixth-floor Hearing Room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.
Vancouver, Wash. ̶ An art show highlighting local youth artists is scheduled for 4:30-8:30 pm Thursday, March 21, at the Clark County Youth House, 1012 Esther St.
The show, “Trading Eyes,” will feature many forms of art including canvas and rock paintings, sculptures and more.
Many of the young artists will be present to answer questions, and some artwork will be available for purchase.
Light refreshments will be provided at the event, which is free and open to the community.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on a five-person board that advises the Clark County Council on controlling noxious weeds. The position is completing a term that will expire Dec. 31, 2020.
Board members serve four-year terms. Upon expiration of a term, a member can apply to serve again. There is no limit on how many terms a member can serve.
The Noxious Weed Control Board meets four times a year, usually on a Monday morning at the 78th Street Operations Center, 4700 NE 78th St.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County will host the third annual Green Awards celebration on Wednesday, March 20, at Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St. This event is open to any business or individual interested in environmental sustainability. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The event is free. Concessions will be available for purchase.
This year a group of improv comedians from Curious Comedy Theater will host the event while presenting their “eco-conscious” improv. The troop will interview leaders of Clark County’s green programs with late-night TV flare.
