Clark County Public Health is continuing its measles outbreak investigation. Since Jan. 1, we have identified 51 confirmed cases and 13 suspect cases. Public Health has also identified two new locations where people may have been exposed to measles.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey is encouraging voters to take advantage of several convenient ways to submit their special election ballots early, in case there is inclement weather on Election Day, Feb. 12.

Vancouver, Wash. – Beginning at 8:30 am Wednesday, Feb. 13, elections officials will perform a hand count of approximately 600 ballots randomly selected as part of a manual comparison against machine results.
The selected ballots will be counted in the total returns on Election Day. But for this comparison, the Vancouver School District levy measure on those ballots also will be counted by hand, to check the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.
Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is taking applications for two retail fireworks permits to be assigned by lottery on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Fireworks cannot be sold in Clark County without a permit.
Vancouver, Wash. – Public Works crews are out early this morning after a light layer of overnight snow blanketed Clark County.
Crews are spraying deicer and applying gravel where needed in unincorporated Clark County. Across most of the county, including urban areas near the city of Vancouver, there isn’t enough snow on roads to plow. Accumulations are slightly heavier in some locations, such as north Clark County at higher elevations.

Vancouver, Wash. – With overnight temperatures forecast to drop below freezing, Public Works will have crews out early Tuesday, Feb. 5, to ease what could be a difficult commute.
Beginning at 4 am, road crews will spray deicer on major thoroughfares in unincorporated Clark County. A map showing primary and secondary routes for winter road response is available on the county’s website, www.clark.wa.gov/public-works/winter-snow-and-ice.
Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council is seeking an applicant to fill one of three Clark County at-large positions on the seven-member Fort Vancouver Regional Library District Board of Trustees. This position is a new seven-year term that will begin upon appointment and ends Dec. 31, 2025.
