Vancouver, Wash. - Ballots are in the mail to all registered voters in Clark County Fire Protection District 10 for the April 25 special election. Voters who live elsewhere will not receive ballots.

If a voter in Fire District 10 does not receive a mail ballot by Friday, April 14, please contact the Elections Office at 360.397.2345 to request a replacement ballot. Voters also can get replacement ballots in person at the Elections office, 1408 Franklin St.  between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The position is open to residents of the board’s District 3, which is bounded on the south and west by the Columbia River and on the north and east by Northeast 78^th Street west of Interstate 205 and Northeast 18^th Street west of Northeast 164^th Avenue.

Vancouver, WA – Three more Clark County restaurants are recognized as “Healthy Neighborhood Restaurants” by Clark County Public Health.

Linda’s Home Plate, Nuestra Mesa and The Garage earned the distinction by meeting specific criteria for healthier side dishes, kids meals and beverages and by adding smaller portions to their menus. Nuestra Mesa is the first restaurant in Camas to earn this recognition.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County ranks 14th among Washington’s 39 counties in overall health status and 12th in health factors such as individual behavior, quality of health care, education and jobs, access to healthy food and air quality, according to the 2017 County Health Rankings report released today by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Vancouver, WA – At Thursday night’s Green Awards celebration, County Manager Mark McCauley presented awards to six businesses and community members for their commitment to reduce harmful environmental impacts, educate others and give back to the community. The winners are:

Steve Horton, Alki Middle School - Green Apple Award for a school employee 
Steve inspires Alki students as leader of the environmental club. He transformed Alki’s recycling and composting program, encouraging all students to participate through fun events and contests.

Vancouver, Wash.  ̶  The paintings of Vancouver artist Don Gray will be on display in the Rebecca Anstine Gallery throughout March, April and May.

A reception honoring Gray will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 7, at the gallery on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. The event is sponsored by the Clark County Arts Commission. It is free and open to the public.
