• County

Each year, the Clark County Auditor’s Office publishes a voters’ pamphlet which is mailed to all households in Clark County. It includes candidate statements and photographs and local ballot measures with supporting and opposing statements written by citizen committees. 

A legislative body placing a measure on the ballot shall appoint a committee to write a supporting statement and another committee to write an opposing statement.

The Clark County Climate Project Environmental Justice Coalition will meet at 3:30 pm on Monday, July 1. 


• Elections

Washington State Secretary of State Steve Hobbs earlier this month presented Clark County Elections Director Cathie Garber with the state’s Elections Administrator of the Year award. 


• Community Development

Vancouver, Wash. – Fireworks go on sale in Clark County beginning Friday, June 28. For the Independence Day holiday, residents can use fireworks in unincorporated Clark County from 9 am to midnight Thursday, July 4.

Illegal use of fireworks such as using them after curfew or device type violation is subject to a $500 civil fine for first time offenders.

All comments are welcomed and encouraged regarding a Finding of No Significant Impact and Request for Release of Funds to the U.S. Department of Housing and Development for improvements proposed to Hamllik Park located in Washougal. 


• Community Planning

The Clark County Climate Project Community Advisory Group will meet at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, June 26. 


• Clark County Council

The Clark County Council is looking for a volunteer who resides near the former Larch Corrections Center to serve on the Larch Correction Center Task Force. The task force will identify, plan, and make recommendations for the conversion of the former corrections facility to an alternate use. 

The one-year term of this position begins immediately and ends on June 30, 2025. The volunteer will be selected by the county council and may be reimbursed for travel expenses per state statute. 


• County

Artwork from local artist David Van Zandt is on display at the Rebecca Anstine Gallery. The show, which Van Zandt titled Incantation will run through the end of August. 

The gallery is on the sixth floor of the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. It is open 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.


• Public Works

Construction will begin in July to install safety improvements along Northeast 130th Avenue between Northeast 76th Street and Northeast Padden Parkway. A marked crosswalk with lighting and a flashing beacon will be installed at the intersection of Northeast 130th Avenue and the Padden Parkway multiuse trail. Additional improvements include: 


• Auditor

The Clark County Auditor’s Auto License Office is moving from its current location at 1408 Franklin St. to the first floor of the Public Service Center located at 1300 Franklin St. 

The office will be closed for the move on Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26.
