Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County residents will have the opportunity to help neighbors in need by bringing non-perishable food donations to the upcoming State of the County 2020 event.

The annual gathering will be 6-7:30 pm Wednesday, March 11 in the sixth-floor hearing room in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is seeking applicants for one vacancy on the Clark County Historic Preservation Commission. The term is for three years and begins July 1.

The seven-member commission is responsible for:

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ County Manager Shawn Henessee is seeking applicants for several open positions on the volunteer Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board.

The three (3) positions are for Clark County residents that represent:

• Licensed veterinarian
• Livestock owner
• Member at large

Terms for the positions begin immediately. The livestock owner and member at large positions end Oct. 31, 2022, and the veterinarian position ends Oct. 31, 2023.

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council is seeking applicants to fill three positions on the Clark County Board of Equalization.

The three-year positions run from May 2020 to May 2023.

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council is seeking applicants for a volunteer position on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission.

The position represents Clark County at-large and is open to all residents. The three-year term begins as soon as the position is filled and ends Dec. 31, 2022.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is seeking applicants for three positions on its Commission on Aging. The commission manages and implements the county’s Aging Readiness Plan and fosters countywide awareness, dialogue and insight into challenges and opportunities for residents of all ages, incomes and abilities.

The terms would be three-years beginning June 1, 2020 and continuing through May 31, 2023. Residents living anywhere in Clark County may apply.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Public Health is seeking community members to serve on its Ethics Review Committee. The committee reviews actual and potential public health ethical dilemmas and provides recommendations to Public Health staff, management and community partners.

The committee is composed of community members and professionals from a variety of fields. The committee meets three times per year, with more meetings scheduled as needed, to understand and deliberate on ethical issues relating to public health policies, systems and operations.

Voters required to make party declaration for this election only

Vancouver, Wash. – Ballots for the March 10 presidential primary are in the mail to all registered voters in Clark County. Instructions for the primary also are included with the ballots.

For this primary, voters must mark and sign a party declaration for their votes to count. The major political parties require voters to make the declaration. Voters must then vote for a candidate from their declared party.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ At 2 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 25, the Clark County Elections Office will conduct a logic and accuracy test of the programming to be used to tabulate ballots and the accessible voting units for the March 10 Presidential Primary.

The test will be held at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St. Members of the news media, and the general public are invited to attend this test, which is required under Washington law.

Ballots will be mailed Friday, Feb. 21.   

For this election, all registered voters in Clark County will receive ballots.

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Permit Center will be closed for staff training on Friday, March 13. The Permit Center will have new hours of operation on Wednesdays beginning March 18. The new hours will be 8 am to noon.

The center will continue to be open 8 am to 3 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
