Nearly 300 patients who visited a Salmon Creek chiropractic office last week may have been exposed to COVID-19 and should quarantine immediately.

An employee at Chiro One Wellness Center Salmon Creek, 13800 NE 20th Ave., tested positive for COVID-19 this week. The employee worked while potentially contagious and may have exposed nearly 300 patients who visited the office over four days last week. The employee also exposed the 14 other employees at the wellness center.

Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey reminds registered voters in Clark County that they do not need to request a mail-in ballot to vote in the upcoming general election.

“All registered voters in Clark county will receive ballots in the mail for the Nov. 3 general election,” said Kimsey.

Ballots for the general election will be mailed on Friday, Oct. 16.

Clark County Treasurer Alishia Topper is providing second installment 2020 property tax statements next week and notifying  property owners taxes will be due on Monday, Nov. 2. 

Typically, the second installment of property taxes are due Oct. 31. However, because the statutory due date falls over the weekend, payments will be considered timely if postmarked by Nov. 2, 2020.

The county manager is seeking applicants with an interest in government and educational access television and cable television franchising to fill a position on the volunteer city/county Telecommunications Commission. 

The position is for an unexpired three-year term that ends April 30, 2023. Applicants must be Clark County residents.

Due to the extreme fire danger, effective immediately, recreational fires will be prohibited throughout unincorporated Clark County. 

This recreational fire restriction is in addition to the general outdoor burning prohibition that was implemented on July 15. According to Interim Fire Marshal Dan Young this is a preventive measure to reduce the risk of grass or brush fires as a result of escaped campfires. 

The ban also includes lands protected by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

Vancouver, Wash. – Regular drivers along the Highway 99 corridor can expect continued nighttime lane closures as paving approaches the intersection with Northeast 134th Street. 

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, crews will close the through lane from the Interstate 205 southbound off-ramp to Highway 99 at Northeast 134th Street from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.  A detour will be in place to direct traffic around the lane closure. This work is weather dependent and could be delayed. 

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is accepting applications to fill three vacancies on a seven-member Parks Advisory Board for terms that begin Jan. 1, 2021.

Board members serve three-year terms. Upon expiration of a term, a member can apply again. There is no limit on how many terms a member can serve. The Parks Advisory Board advises the Clark County Council and county staff on parks planning, acquisition, development and related issues. Applicants must be residents of Clark County.

Full closure of the roadway between Northeast 159th Street and Northeast 172nd Street for emergency storm pipe repair

Vancouver, Wash. – Regular drivers along Northeast 72nd Avenue should prepare for a full closure of Northeast 72nd Avenue beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. The roadway will be closed to allow crews with Clark County Public Works’ contractor to perform emergency repair on a section of failing storm pipe under the road. The closure and associated work are expected to take three to four weeks and is weather dependent, which could extend the closure.

Clark County Public Health is urging people to wear face coverings and practice physical distancing during the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend.

Mercy Corps Northwest will award grants of up to $10,000 to 150-300 small business owners in Clark County and Vancouver  

Vancouver, Wash. – As small business owners continue to grapple with the economic ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mercy Corps Northwest has partnered with Clark County and the City of Vancouver to distribute grants to entrepreneurs facing financial hardship through a new small business relief grant program.
