Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council is seeking nominations and applications to fill a vacant position on the three-member board that oversees Drainage Improvement District No. 5.

The district includes the western Hockinson area bounded generally by Northeast 132nd Avenue on the west, Northeast 99th Street on the south, Northeast 182nd Avenue on the east and Northeast 159th Street on the north.

Applicants must be property owners within the drainage improvement district and registered voters in the state of Washington.

Vancouver, Wash. – Ballots are in the mail to all registered voters in the Hockinson, Mount Pleasant and Ridgefield School Districts for the upcoming April 23 special election.

If a voter does not receive a ballot by Thursday, April 11, please contact the Elections Office at (564) 397-2345 to request a replacement ballot. Replacement ballots may also be requested by mail, email, or in person at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St. Office hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

April 10 open house to reveal results of eight-week resident survey

Vancouver, Wash. – Community members are encouraged to help Clark County shape the future of the 78th Street Heritage Farm in Hazel Dell.

An open house has been scheduled for 6-8 pm Wednesday, April 10, in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. County residents will have an opportunity to review and discuss draft recommendations for the Heritage Farm’s master plan update.

Vancouver, Wash. – The county manager is seeking applicants to fill two vacant elected official positions on the volunteer Community Action Advisory Board.

The twelve-member board makes recommendations about local government funding for basic needs, self-sufficiency and housing programs. Members also advocate for services supporting low-income communities, families and persons.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Columbia River Gorge Commission. The appointment begins July 1, 2019 and continues through June 30, 2023.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County middle and high school students are invited to join Prevention is a Party on April 19 from 8-10:30 pm. The drug- and alcohol-free celebration for youth will be held at the Firstenburg Community Center, 700 NE 136th Ave.

The free celebration will have food, swimming, basketball, a DJ, video games, table games, giveaways and prizes. Youth must bring their own locks for lockers.

Peer educators from Clark County’s STASHA program are hosting the event in partnership with Firstenburg Center’s Teen Late Night program.

Vancouver, Wash. – Beginning in April, West Van for Youth coalition will offer a free, 5-week parenting workshop for parents who live in the west-side 98660, 98661 and 98663 zip codes.

The evidence-based Guiding Good Choices parenting classes are for parents and other caregivers of children ages 9-14.

Classes are held each Thursday from April 11, 2019 through May 9, 2019. Meals and child care will be provided. Each session runs 6-8 pm at Trinity Lutheran 309 W 39th St. Optional dinner begins at 5:30 pm.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on a seven-member Parks Advisory Board. The position is completing a term that will expire Dec. 31, 2020.

Board members serve three-year terms. Upon expiration of a term, a member can apply again. There is no limit on how many terms a member can serve.
