Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Treasurer is holding an auction for one unsold foreclosure property on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018. All bidding must be done online at the Clark County Treasurer's auction page at www.bid4assets.com/ClarkWA.

The auction will begin at 8 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. Please check the auction listing details for the closing time, Treasurer Doug Lasher said.

A $2,500 deposit, plus a $35 processing fee, must be received by Bid4Assets in order participate in the Thursday sale.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County’s Green Business program will hold a free Morning Blend networking event 8-9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Columbia Bank’s Community Room, 101 E. Sixth St.

Morning Blend is an opportunity to network, discuss green business efforts at your workplace, and learn about solutions for reducing our impact on the environment.

The event will feature a presentation about ResourceFULL Use, an organization that builds connections between businesses so they can exchange and reuse materials.

Vancouver, Wash. - The Clark County Council is seeking applicants for two seats on the Clark County Historic Preservation Commission.

• Community Planning

Vancouver, Wash. - The Clark County Commission on Aging is focusing this year on transportation, especially for people 60 and older. Transportation allows residents of all ages and abilities to connect with others and maintain independence. It is a hallmark of a livable community.

The year-long focus will educate and raise awareness about future transportation and mobility challenges and solutions that could help Clark County’s older residents age in their homes and neighborhoods for as long as possible.

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council is seeking applicants to fill a position on the Clark County Board of Equalization.

The three-year position runs from July 15, 2018 to July 14, 2021.


• Treasurer

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Treasurer’s Office has a new property tax payment mailing address.

As of Feb. 1, 2018, people who pay their property taxes by mail should send payments to Clark County Treasurer, Caller Box 35150, Seattle, WA 98124-5150.

In person payments still can be made in the second floor joint lobby of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., and online payment also is an option. For details, visit the Treasurer’s website at www.clark.wa.gov/treasurer

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council urges county residents to complete an online survey about the possibility of Oregon applying a toll on Interstate 5 and Interstate 205 to ease congestion in the Portland area.

The Oregon Department of Transportation is conducting the Portland Area Value Pricing Feasibility Analysis and hosting an online open house through Monday, Feb. 5.


• Community Services

Vancouver, WA – The 20th annual Youth Achievement Awards celebration is scheduled for Sunday, June 10, and nominations of youth ages 11-19 are being accepted. Up to 300 young people will receive awards.


• County

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council invites the community to the 2018 State of the County at the Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 17402 NE Delfel Road, Ridgefield. The program is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The venue was selected to honor this year’s 150 anniversary of the Clark County Fair.

Councilor Marc Boldt, chair of the county council, will present State of the County remarks prior to comments by councilors Jeanne E. Stewart of District 1, Julie Olson of District 2, John Blom of District 3 and Eileen Quiring of District 4.


• Elections

Vancouver, Wash. – Beginning at 8:30 am Wednesday, Feb. 14, elections officials will hand count  approximately 600 randomly selected ballots as part of a manual comparison with machine results.

The selected ballots will be counted in the total election day returns. But for this comparison, the Evergreen Public Schools race on those ballots will be counted by hand to check the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.

The procedure was recommended by the Washington Secretary of State’s Office and is now standard practice in Clark County.
