Vancouver, Wash. – Stormwater Partners is proud to announce the winning entries for its first annual Student Video Contest. More than 80 Clark County middle and high school students submitted videos for the contest. One $500 first place and one $100 honorable-mention prize has been awarded for each of the following categories:

· Clean Water Actions Long Video – $500 to Melia Ballantyne and $100 to Hana Feldheger

· Clean Water Actions Short Video – $500 to Maia Rodriguez and Olivia Frizzell and $100 to Autumn Hergert

Vancouver, Wash. – Regular drivers along the Northeast Manley Road between Northeast 244th Street and Northeast 249th Street, can expect continued lane closures as contractors with Clark County Public Works begin replacement of the third and final culvert beneath the roadway.

Crews will close a section of Northeast Manley Road on Northeast 92nd Avenue between Northeast 244th Street and Northeast 249th Street. Approximately 500 feet of the roadway will be closed.

Vancouver, Wash. – Regular drivers of Northeast 10th Avenue between Northeast 149th Street and Northeast 154th Street will need to find alternate routes beginning Monday, June 7. 

Monday morning, crews with Clark County’s contractor, Tapani Inc., of Battle Ground, will close approximately 0.25 miles of Northeast 10th Avenue. During the closure, contractors will complete work to improve the roadway, starting with replacing an aging culvert. Local access will be maintained from the north for a small number of homes and other properties along this section of roadway.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County middle- and high-school students have an opportunity to showcase their video skills and win cash prizes. Stormwater Partners of Southwest Washington is partnering with Oregon’s Regional Coalition for Clean Rivers and Streams to launch “The River Starts Here Student Video Contest.”

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Public Works has closed Southeast 347th Street between Southeast Lawton Road and Southeast Jennings Road in Washougal, Wash. due to deteriorating weather conditions.

Crews with Clark County Public Works have been focusing on the Washougal and east county area over the last 48 hours due to the severity of winter-weather conditions. This quarter mile of road has eight-foot or more snow drifts that make it impassible to both residential vehicles and county snow plows.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County has declared a state of emergency for the Greater Clark County area effective Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.

Multiple roads throughout the county, especially in Washougal, have become impassable due to deteriorating weather conditions.

As of 6 a.m., six Public Works snowplows were stuck in deep snow and ice in the Washougal area. One vehicle has since been recovered and crews are working to recover the remaining five vehicles.

Vancouver, Wash. – With the uncertainty around how the state’s public-gathering guidelines will unfold over the next several months, Clark County Public Works leadership made the difficult decision to extend the pause on new picnic shelter reservations and park-use permits through 2021. Additionally, all existing 2021 reservations will be cancelled. Impacted customers will receive a full refund. Staff actively monitor local and state guidelines to determine if the pause on these services could be lifted. Updates will be available as soon as possible.

Vancouver, Wash. – Contractor crews with Clark County Public Works will reduce the number of lanes to one lane in each direction at the intersection of Highway 99 and Northeast 99th Street the morning of Saturday, Jan. 30.

During that morning, drivers can expect single-lane traffic and delays in all directions near the project location. The intersection will be controlled with flaggers.

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Public Works is asking residents to avoid flooded areas on trails in Clark County parks. Heavy rain overnight has caused minor flooding in several parks throughout Clark County. Portions of the Daybreak Regional Park Trail and the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail have been closed due to water over the trail.
