Vancouver, Wash. – Beginning at 8:30 am Wednesday, Feb. 14, elections officials will hand count  approximately 600 randomly selected ballots as part of a manual comparison with machine results.

The selected ballots will be counted in the total election day returns. But for this comparison, the Evergreen Public Schools race on those ballots will be counted by hand to check the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.

The procedure was recommended by the Washington Secretary of State’s Office and is now standard practice in Clark County.

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, is the last day to submit a mail-in voter registration form to be eligible to cast a ballot in the Feb. 13 special election. Because Jan. 15 is a national holiday, Elections urges people to mail registration forms no later than Saturday, Jan. 13.

Vancouver, Wash. - At 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, the Clark County Elections Office will conduct a logic and accuracy test of the programming that will be used to tabulate ballots and the accessible voting units for the Feb. 13 special election.

The test will be at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St. Members of jurisdictions with measures on the ballot, the public and the news media are invited to attend the test, which is required under Washington law.

Vancouver, Wash. – People wanting to serve on the board of one of two drainage districts or a diking district in Clark County can file as candidates for the February 2108 election during the second week of December.

Candidates can file for positions on Drainage District 2, Drainage Improvement District 5 or Diking Improvement District 14 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 11 to Dec. 15. People must file at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St.

The manual count, which is to prove the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment, will start at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Election Office, 1408 Franklin St. The manual count procedure was recommended by the Washington Secretary of State’s Office and is now standard procedure in Clark County.

Vancouver, Wash. – During a check of precinct information against the county’s Geographic Information Systems’ data, Clark County Elections found that 172 voters received ballots for the Nov. 7 election that were based on a precinct other than the one where they live. The error means those voters received ballots with incorrect races and measures.

The voters have been identified, and Elections has flagged their incorrect ballots. Elections sent each voter a new, corrected ballot and a letter explaining that an error was made.

Vancouver, WA ‒ Clark County citizens have until Tuesday, Oct. 10, to submit a mail-in voter registration form to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 7, 2017 general and special election. Voter registration forms must be postmarked no later than Oct. 10.

Online registration applications can be submitted up to 11:59 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9. To register online, visit the Elections Office website at clarkvotes.org and click on MyVote.
