• County Manager

The Clark County Charter Review Commission is seeking applicants to fill an open position on the commission. The seat is in councilor district 4, position number 3. Applicants must be registered voters currently residing in council district 4.


• Public Health

For the next three weeks, the COVID-19 vaccination site at Tower Mall will prioritize giving second doses to people who received their first dose at the site. A limited number of first-dose appointments will be available each week as well.


• County Manager

The Clark County Arts Commission announced this week it has selected Armin Tolentino as Clark County Poet Laureate. Tolentino will serve 2021-2023 promoting the art of poetry and literature throughout Clark County. His term begins April 1, 2021.


• Law Library

The Clark County Law Library is selling a new self-help form kit. The Small Estate Affidavit process is an alternative to probate in some circumstances.  

The kit includes forms and instructions to transfer the personal property of a Washington resident who died without using probate. These are generally situations where there is no real estate and the value of the estate is less than $100,000.


• Public Health

Additional appointments for COVID-19 vaccination have been added at the Tower Mall site in central Vancouver. Another 160 appointments have been added for Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. This brings the total number of appointments up to 1,000 per day.


• Community Planning

Clark County is seeking applicants for three seats on the Clark County Historic Preservation Commission. Two seats will be for three years and one seat will be for one year. The terms will begin July 1.

Clark County is announcing recipients of 2021 Green Awards. The awards are presented annually to individuals, organizations and businesses for their leadership and dedication to environmental sustainability.

The 2021 Green Awards winners are:

Ellen Ives - Green Neighbor Award for a resident who exemplifies a sustainable lifestyle
Ellen rides her bike, composts in her backyard, and when she’s on-the-go she always packs a kit of reusable items to avoid single use products. 


• Public Health

Public Health is opening appointments for COVID-19 vaccination at the Tower Mall site to anyone who is eligible in Phase 1a or Phase 1b Tiers 1-2. The link to schedule appointments will be posted on the Public Health COVID-19 Vaccine webpage and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Nextdoor) at noon today.


• Clark County Council

Clark County Council Chair Eileen Quiring O’Brien will present the 2021 State of the County address 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 on Clark Vancouver TV. The previously recorded video will be available on CVTV channel 23/323 and www.cvtv.org.

Chair O’Brien’s main discussion topic will be the county’s response to the pandemic over the past year.

The county council is foregoing its annual in-person State of the County event due to COVID-19 safety protocols.

Consultant will present information on county policy and development regulations

The Housing Options Study and Action Plan project’s purpose is to identify housing challenges within the unincorporated Vancouver Urban Growth Area and opportunities to encourage development of housing that is affordable to a variety of household incomes through the removal of regulatory barriers and/or implementation of other strategies.
