Tower Mall vaccination site to prioritize second doses in coming weeks, some first-dose appointments available

For the next three weeks, the COVID-19 vaccination site at Tower Mall will prioritize giving second doses to people who received their first dose at the site. A limited number of first-dose appointments will be available each week as well.

The Tower Mall vaccination site opened March 5 and operates Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. In the first three weeks, more than 8,900 people received their first dose of Pfizer vaccine at the site. Over the next three weeks, the site will provide second doses to everyone who received their first dose at the site. People who received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine elsewhere should schedule a second-dose appointment with that location.

Returning for second doses

Everyone who received a first dose at the site is scheduled to receive their second dose three weeks later at the same time and day of week as their first dose. Those returning for their second dose should bring the COVID-19 vaccination card issued at their first-dose appointment and a completed consent form. Consent forms are required at each appointment.

Consent forms are available on the Public Health website. Blank consent forms will also be available at the vaccination site for those who cannot print the form in advance.

First-dose appointments

A limited number of first-dose appointments will be available at the site each week. About 400 first-dose appointments will be available Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday (March 26-27 and 29-30). Additional appointments will be added each week.

Appointments are available to anyone who is currently eligible to be vaccinated. To schedule an appointment, visit the Safeway/Albertsons website. The scheduling link is also available on the Public Health COVID-19 Vaccine webpage.

Those who do not have internet access or need help scheduling an appointment can call Public Health at 888.225.4625. Call center representatives can assist with scheduling, and language assistance is available.

Second-dose appointments will automatically be scheduled for three weeks later at the same time, day of the week and location. Please ensure the time and day of week you select will work for your first- and second-dose appointments. Vaccines are free.

Those with appointments should arrive at the site at their appointment time. Arriving before the scheduled appointment time could lead to traffic backups and longer wait times.

Drivers should enter the site off North Blandford Drive between MacArthur Boulevard and Mill Plain Boulevard and exit onto North Devine Road. Walk-up patients will enter the site off East Mill Plain Boulevard between Blandford Road and Divine Road. Follow the directional signs for COVID-19 vaccine.

The Tower Mall vaccination site is a collaboration between Clark County Public Health, the city of Vancouver and Safeway.
