The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Clark County Auditor’s Office for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended Dec. 31, 2020.
This is the 35th consecutive year that the Auditor’s Office has received this award.
The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“This report is an important part of the county’s commitment to transparency and accountability, said County Auditor Greg Kimsey. “I’m very proud of the hard work by the many people throughout the county, from department office assistants and finance managers to highly skilled government accounting specialists, who create this report.”
The report is available on the county’s website.
The GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve. Learn more about GFOA at https://www.gfoa.org/.
