Vancouver, Wash. ‒ Earlier this week, County Manager Mark McCauley submitted his 2016 annual report to the Board of County Councilors, as required by the Clark County Charter. On Wednesday, he made the 40-page document available to the public on the county’s website at www.clark.wa.gov.
McCauley chose to post the document online in keeping with Clark County’s Sustainability Policy, which calls for the county to “promote and demonstrate efficient and effective use of renewable and consumable resources.” An online report helps the environment, reduces waste and minimizes printing expenses, he said.
To reach the report, viewers can click on the County Manager’s Annual Report rotating banner on the website’s home page or find it on the county manager’s page under Departments.
In the report, McCauley discusses how Clark and Skamania counties became the state’s only Early Adopter region and the first to merge mental health and substance abuse treatment with primary care in Washington’s Medicaid system.
“Clark County is a pioneer in state health care reform,” he said.
He also talks about a new online system that, once completed, will transform the permitting process for builders, developers, architects and homeowners. The online system will offer convenience, flexibility, security and accuracy for the development sector and community at large.
McCauley also outlines ongoing efforts to ensure the community has an even more motivated, engaged and high-performing workforce that will provide enhanced customer service in the future. Hundreds of employees attended trainings to increase skills and foster the Servant Leadership philosophy and practices. A healthy workplace culture will attract the best people available and make Clark County the regional employer of choice, he said.
The report’s introduction focuses on the community McCauley and all county employees “have the privilege to serve,” as well as selected staff accomplishments and honors in 2016.
