In 2007, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) to provide crime victims with timely updates on offender custody status. Through the statewide Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system, victims can confirm whether an offender is still in custody—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The VINE system is free, and victims may register to receive release notifications by phone or email.
In addition, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) offer a Victim Notification Program. This service provides eligible victims and witnesses with reliable, timely updates regarding the release of a criminal alien from custody. To participate, victims and witnesses must register directly with ICE.
