Identification

The Identification Unit contains ABIS (Automated Biometrics Identification System) which has been utilized by the Sheriff's Office since 1988. The system is operated only by state trained and certified staff. They search fingerprints through the Western Identification Network (WIN) database for searches within Washington and other western states in assistance of identification purposes.

The ID unit currently processes the print cards of approximately 1200 subjects per month. There is a direct link to Washington State Patrol (WSP) with booking information and fingerprints, and receiving "real-time" responses from the state on subjects using false names or identification.
