Michael Hinman, 41, called his wife from work to report that he was not feeling well and was going home. When she arrived at their residence, his vehicle was gone but his personal belongings were inside. 

Hinman’s car was later located abandoned at a popular pullout on Highway 101 in Manzanita, Oregon. Inside the vehicle, investigators found blood, a utility knife, and a plastic bag. The area is known for suicide incidents involving jumps from the nearby cliff; however, Hinman’s body has never been recovered. His case remains unsolved.
