Commissioner Lopez has lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years. She graduated from Biola University with a degree in Organizational Leadership/Business and received her law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School.
Prior to her appointment as a District Court Commissioner, Commissioner Lopez worked as a civil defense attorney for municipalities throughout the State of Oregon. Afterward, she served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Clark County in the Civil Division and became the Chief Civil Deputy in 2021.
Commissioner Lopez graduated from the Superior and District Court Mentorship Program in 2023. She served as a Pro Tempore Judge/Commissioner in both Superior and District Court in 2024, handling protection orders, family law, dependency, unlawful detainer, small claims, and other matters.
Commissioner Lopez is an active member of the George and Donald Simpson Inns of Court, and currently serves on its Board. She is also involved with the Clark County Bar Association, and serves as a rater or judge in the YMCA Mock Trial competitions.
