Charles J Nickels Barn

Body

Charles J Nickels and his wife Josephine built this Dutch Gambrel –style barn in 1939. Timber and poles used in construction were logged from the same family farm. Horse logging brought the logs from the back of the farm where they were hauled to a local mill and returned and used as full sawn timbers. The original roof was hand split cedar shingles also from the farm. The barn has been used for hay storage, dairy, horse barn, and for beef cattle over the years.
