Kampe Prune Dryer

Body

The Kempe family built and operated the Prune Dryer all the way up to 1968, at which time it was subdivided into smaller parcels and several houses were built. The current owners aim to restore the Prune Dryer to a functional state. Local teens used to hold dances in the Prune Dryer and the building was briefly used as a feed store. Clark County was once known as the “Prune Drying Capital of the World” with over 200 operational prune dryers. There are only a handful still standing and this is one of the largest.
