Project Overview
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 is a civil rights statue that prohibits discrimination against people who have disabilities. Title II of ADA specifically addresses the subject of making public services and public transportation accessible to those with disabilities. With the advent of ADA, design and construction of facilities for public use, such as sidewalks, must be accessible to people with disabilities.
Clark County’s Public Works Department is committed to providing accessible pedestrian facilities which ensure that all our citizens have access to our transportation system. The ADA Transition Plan and Self-Evaluation identifies areas where the county must improve to meet that commitment, and where the county is meeting it already.
