The Birrer Farm has been in family ownership since 1879. The barn, built in 1953, is exemplary of the quonset shape form. All the lumber for the barn was logged from the property.

Over the years, the land has supported the growing of oats, alfalfa, hay, corn, raspberries, and vegetables.
