Clark County Council will host a work session on new climate change legislation the morning of June 28, 2023, after the Board of Health meeting, which begins at 8:30 a.m.

With the passage of E2SHB 1181 during the 2023 Washington state legislative session, Clark County is now required to add a Climate Change Element to its Comprehensive Plan by June 30, 2025. This work will be integrated into the 2025 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Review project.

The work session is intended as an initial informational briefing for council and will include an overview of the new legislation and outline how it intersects with the rest of the 2025 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Review project.

The work session is open to the public, however there will be no public comment as part of the event.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format. Attendees can join in person in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., or virtually via Webex.
