Climate Environmental Justice Coalition

What is the Climate Environmental Justice Coalition (EJC)?

The Environmental Justice Coalition (EJC) is a coalition of community-based organizations who are helping the county meet the public engagement and environmental justice requirements of new state Climate Change Planning legislation (ES2HB 1181), in which the county is now required to add a Climate Change Element to its Comprehensive Plan by June 30, 2025. The legislation emphasizes that planning and policy decisions related to climate change do not impact us all in the same way.

The county project team is partnering with the fifteen organizations listed below to facilitate the meaningful involvement of populations most impacted by climate impacts and hazards:

•    Council for the Homeless
•    Farm and Food Justice Network
•    Fourth Plain Forward
•    Free Clinic of Southwest Washington
•    Hispanic Disability Support SW WA (Pasitos Gigantes)
•    iUrban Teen
•    Latino Leadership NW
•    League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Vancouver Metro
•    NAACP Vancouver Washington Branch 1139
•    Odyssey World International Education Services
•    Pacific Islander Community Association of Washington (PICA-WA)
•    Pacific Islander Health Board of Washington
•    Partners in Careers (PIC)
•    Sakura 39ers Youth Association
