Vancouver, Wash. – Contractors with Clark County Public Works will close the westbound section of Northeast 99th Street between Highway 99 and Northeast 13th Avenue beginning Saturday, Oct. 3.

Clark County Public Works’ contractor, Nutter Corporation of Vancouver, Wash., will widen westbound lanes on this heavily traveled corridor to allow drivers to more easily make right turns. This work also includes filling in gaps in the existing bicycle lanes on Highway 99 and building a new bicycle lane on Northeast 99th Street from Highway 99 west to Northeast 13th Avenue. The combination of heavy traffic, a skewed intersection, narrow lanes and tight turning radius has created congestion problems and safety concerns.

During the closure, only eastbound traffic will be able to use the road. Westbound travelers will need to take an alternate route.

The closure is scheduled to be finished no later than Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020.  Closure start and end dates are weather dependent. All contracted work is expected to be complete in November 2020.
