Clark County collects traffic impact fees from new developments based on the developments’ projected impact on the transportation system. Proceeds from the program are used to fund capital improvements that accommodate growth and provide additional capacity to the major transportation system.
Fee districts and rates
Clark County has established different traffic impact fee districts to fund a portion of projects listed in the Capital Facilities Plan. A project's traffic impact fee is based on several factors, including the number of vehicular trips the development is projected to generate.
Under state law, traffic impact fees can be used to help pay for road improvements as identified in the Capital Facilities Plan. Proceeds from the traffic impact fee are only a partial funding source and can be used in conjunction with federal, state and local dollars.
