County Manger Kathleen Otto yesterday announced her appointment of Eva Haney as the director of Clark County Public Works.

“Eva joined Clark County in June 2020 as the department finance manager for Public Works and later became the interim Public Works director in July 2021. Her vast experience in finance, audit, and operations has allowed her to support and lead the Public Works team,” Otto said.

Eva has more than 15 years of experience in financial services, primarily providing services to operations and contracts management professionals. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Houston.

Before joining the county, Eva worked for King County as the Budget and Reporting manager for the Department of Community and Human Services. She also worked for the City of Houston as a senior management analyst and as a registered investment advisor within the State of Texas. In all of her financial roles, Eva worked diligently to build the bridge between operations, information, communication, and accounting processes.

“Eva’s commitment and passion for the Clark County team and public service is evident through her steadfast leadership as shown through her relationships with internal and external partners and providing a culture supporting professionalism and success,” said Otto.

“This is an exciting change for both the Public Works department and for myself,” said Haney. “We have talented, hard-working staff within the Public Works department, and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to lead the creation of a new chapter in the agency. I am fully committed to building and maintaining an environment of continuous improvement and shared accountability.”
