Latest Construction Update
UPDATE: Starting Sept. 28, 2026, one lane will close during working hours until the project is complete. A full road closure is no longer in effect.
The Southeast Blair Road project improves safety and mobility on this heavily traveled corridor. Southeast Blair Road is classified as a two-lane major rural collector and is a main east/west travel route between the cities of Vancouver and Washougal along the Little Washougal River. The project will overlay the 11-foot travel lanes and one-foot shoulders, replace existing guardrail and install new guardrail in spot locations, modify super elevations along a horizontal curve, and construct spot-safety improvements. The project length is approximately 1.44 miles, from Mile Post, or MP, 2.47 to MP 3.91 (Southeast Washougal River Road) (see below).
Schedule
A 200-foot section of the road between Southeast Krohn and Washougal River roads will fully close to through traffic between early July and the end of August.
- Access will be maintained for properties located within the closure area.
- Through traffic will be directed onto a detour route.
- Emergency vehicle access will also be maintained during construction.
- Closure start and end dates are approximate and subject to change.
Funding
Total cost of the project is anticipated to be $2,305,000. Clark County received a RAP (CRAB) state grant. Traffic Impact Fees and the County Road Fund will fund the remaining portion of the costs.
