Be prepared

Disasters and emergency situations can happen any time and any place. When an emergency occurs, you may need to respond quickly. Planning ahead can help reduce the impact for you and your family.

Different disasters and emergency situations will require a different response. For example, shelter in place during an influenza pandemic versus evacuation for a wildfire. Taking the time to consider the hazards in your area and preparing for each of them will improve the likelihood of a quick response and recovery.
