Vancouver, WA – Clark County, in partnership with Clark Public Utilities, will host its annual Earth Day Fest on Saturday, April 16, at Salmon Creek Regional Park.

Now in its 17th year, this event will have activities for the whole family.

The Earth Day Fest is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes:

• A live birds of prey exhibit
• An Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) exhibit
• Live reptile demonstrations
• A wild salmon release
• Water bug investigations

“Earth Day Fest is a great family event with lots of opportunities to learn about Earth-friendly practices and connect with nature,” said Don Benton, Environmental Services director.

In addition to the fest, hundreds of volunteers will pitch in from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to plant native trees and help remove invasive garlic mustard. Volunteers must register in advance to participate in the planting and weed pull. All training and supplies will be provided.

Lunch will be free to volunteers, and the first 100 Earth Day Fest attendees can choose between a free lunch or an insulated grocery bag. Lunch also will be available for purchase at the fest.

The Earth Day Fest celebrates Earth Day, which is Friday, April 22.
