Public health is a dynamic, challenging and exciting profession. Clark County Public Health believes that developing future public health leaders is critical for our community. We are committed to providing opportunities for education, training and experience to emerging public health professionals. By partnering with higher education institutions, our staff strives to offer exceptional internships in different public health disciplines. We host unpaid internships as virtual, in-person or a hybrid model for student interns in several public health programs.

Current opportunities

Explore the Public Health website to learn more about our programs before submitting a request for an internship. Applications should specify the program with which you would like to intern.

Public Health has filled the intern spots with HAE for the 2023 summer and fall semesters. HAE will be looking at applications for 2024 next.

Health Assessment and Evaluation (HAE) program will have data analysis and product development projects (data brief or infographic) on the following topics in 2024:

  • Systemic racism
  • Gun violence
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Suicide

Additional projects will be posted as they become available.

Student nurses

Please note that Public Health is unable to host student nurses for internships currently. Clark County Public Health no longer operates a traditional public clinic; only a specialized clinic for harm reduction.

How to apply

To apply, please complete this internship application and email to the internship coordinator, along with cover letter, current resume and details for a project you are interested in pursuing. If you are not applying for a specific project, please indicate the program area you are interested in.

Please note that these positions are limited and competitive; we encourage applicants to treat this like they would a job application.
