Internships

Public health is a dynamic, challenging and exciting profession. Clark County Public Health believes that developing future public health leaders is critical for our community. We are committed to providing opportunities for education, training and experience to emerging public health professionals. By partnering with higher education institutions, our staff strives to offer exceptional internships in different public health disciplines. We host unpaid internships as virtual, in-person or a hybrid model for student interns in several public health programs.

Current opportunities

Explore the Public Health website to learn more about our programs before submitting a request for an internship. Applications should specify the program with which you would like to intern.

Health Assessment and Evaluation (HAE) program will have internship projects related to population health and/or non-infectious conditions involving qualitative or quantitative data analysis, data visualization, program evaluation, or survey design. Topics may include:

  • Social Determinants of Health
  • Chronic disease
  • Maternal child health
  • Injury prevention

Additional projects will be posted as they become available.

Student nurses

Please note that Public Health is unable to host student nurses for internships currently. Clark County Public Health no longer operates a traditional public clinic; only a specialized clinic for harm reduction.
