Long Term Care Facilities

Long term care facilities are required to report all suspected and confirmed outbreaks to their local health jurisdiction per Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 246-101-305. The goal of reporting is to prevent further spread of disease by implementing appropriate control measures.

Infection prevention consultations

The Infection Prevention Program offers free, non-regulatory Infection Control Assessment and Response (ICAR) consultations to health care facilities. ICARs provide health care facilities an opportunity to participate in a consultative review of infection prevention practices.
