Vancouver, Wash. – Robert Michael Pyle will discuss the updated version of his celebrated account of the Bigfoot legend, Where Bigfoot Walks, from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Vintage Books, 6613 E. Mill Plain Blvd.

A lifelong ecologist from Grays River, Wash., Pyle updated the book with new information about the environment that’s said to be home to the hairy beast. He’ll describe his explorations into the Dark Divide, a large, intact wilderness area in Washington’s southern Cascade Mountains.

Pyle has authored many books about the natural world. He is the founder of the Xerces Society, which works to protect invertebrates and their habitats.

“Robert Michael Pyle’s message about respecting the environment speaks to the environmental protection Public Health works to achieve through recycling and waste reduction,” said Sally Fisher, Green Neighbors program coordinator. “Intact ecosystems allow the imagination to go wild.”

Clark County’s Green Neighbors program encourages green living through recycling, environmental stewardship, natural gardening and other activities. The program sponsors various community events such as the Natural Garden Tour, Wastebusters, Recycled Arts Festival and Repair Café. 

“Vintage Books has been an invaluable partner in bringing our messages to the community,” said Fisher. “It’s heartening to see more people embrace environmental sustainability and engage with the Green Neighbors program.”
