Bridge Strengthening Projects

9 Bridges

This project will increase the load carrying capacity of nine county bridges by strengthening the superstructure of the existing bridges. These bridges are currently “load posted”, so restricted for certain emergency vehicles and certain hauling vehicles.  This work will remove the load posting restrictions.

Clark County received a $2.59 million Federal Highway Administration Local Bridge grant through Washington State Department of Transportation, which will pay for a most of the bridge strengthening design and construction expenses.

Design and permitting work is expected to be completed in the spring of 2022, with construction later in 2022 and completion in 2023.

Due to the construction the bridges will require single lane road closures at times and full road closures at other times.  Detour routes will be in place. Those impacted by road closures will receive a notification once closure dates and detour routes are finalized.
